A 2003 case management system, brought forward.
For a UK law firm, we modernised the case management stack one matter type at a time — no big-bang rewrite, no lost work, no fee-earner trained on a system that wasn't ready.
01 / Sector
Case management for solicitors and small firms — court timetabling, document workflows, jurisdiction-specific compliance. Close to the sector since 2003.
02 / What we know
Case management for solicitors and small-to-medium firms — matter management, time recording, document handling, court timetabling, undertakings. We built one of the early bespoke case management systems for a UK law firm back in 2003 and have stayed close to the sector since.
Legal software is workflow software where the workflow IS the work. A missed limitation date, an unrecorded undertaking, an untimed phone call — each one has a financial and professional consequence. We build the system to make the right thing the easy thing, and the wrong thing impossible. Jurisdiction-specific rules — limitation, court timetables, LBA Pre-Action Protocol, SRA / Law Society of Scotland accounts rules — are designed in, not bolted on.
Most firms aren't looking for a wholesale replacement. They want the matter management discipline that the off-the-shelf packages won't bend to, the time recording the fee-earners will actually use, and the document handling that respects how the firm already names and stores its files.
Client-facing increasingly means a phone in someone's hand. We build client portal apps that give clients structured matter visibility — progress, key dates, signed documents, secure messaging — without exposing the case management system itself. Native iOS / Android via Capacitor where push notifications and store presence matter; PWAs where rapid iteration matters more.

04 / What we've built
Anonymised, because we have to be. The kind of system, for the kind of business, and what it had to do.

For a small firm, we replaced an unused time-recording add-on with a single-screen interface that captured time at the point of the work — billable hours per partner went up the month it launched.

For a conveyancing team, we built the register that tracked every undertaking from given to discharged — with the diary entry, the trigger and the audit trail attached to the matter.
